I have been learning to write a recipe.  We read George's Marvellous Medicine and used this stay to inspire us to create our own Marvellous Medicine I found writing a recipe easy because I got help.  My next step is to work faster.

My Reflection

I have been learning to relate to the characters in the text.  We have been reading George's marvellous medicine.  I thought of some words to describe grandma from what I learnt about her in the story.  I found this easy because I found lots of ideas.  My next step is to write a paragraph describing grandma using these words.

I have been learning to identifying different types of words.  A noun is a person, place, or thing.  I found this easy because the nouns was easy.  My next step is to work faster.  

All About Insects

My Reflection I found this work interesting because I learnt new things.  I would have liked to do more reseach about insects. The best part of this is reading the books. My next step is to practice skimming and scanning.

                                We have been learning how to apply paint. we learnt two techniques, dabbing with                                 a sponge and dragging with cardboard.  My favourite part was using the sponge.

We went to Te Tuhi to do a workshop called Creative Stories.We did a roleplay of a story Quaky Cat, then we made a collage of a scene from the story.  My scene was being one of the other cats.

Fraction Of A Set

We are learning about unit fractions of a set.

One thing that worked for me was the fraction knowing my basic facts.

One thing that was tricky for me was the unit fractions because I only know that the numerator has to be one, I'm not sure about the rest. my next is to work on the unit fractions.

In the end my dream house looks like a drill.

There is a rope ladder to get to the living room.

     My dream house has a bath room , a bedroom, kitchen, dining room and gaming room!

I was learning how to add detail using my five senses.  One thing that worked well for me way being in my special place to get idea.  One thing I could do better next time is find more words for the smells.  Overall I think I did well.

I am learning to first information in a non-fiction book by skimming and scanning.

Skimming is when we read quickly over a text a text to get a idea of what the book is about.

Scanning is when we look for specific information in a text and we look for key words and phrases.

I read a book about white tailed spiders.

I scanned the book for facts about white tailed spider.

I buddy up with Deborah to compare our animals using a venn diagram.  It was tricky because I did not know what to do because it was confusing.  My next step is to find more facts about white-tailed spiders.

I am learning to make and justify inferences.  In this piece of evidence I was finding implicit and explicit information in the text about white baiting.  I found it tricky because I had no idea.  Next time I should ask for more ideas to help me find the information.

I was learning to retell a story. I  think I am learning to retell the story in the right order because it is hard to find the main idea I found this work tricky because it was hard to put in my own words. My next learning step is to retell the story in the right order.

I was learning that number can be made and broken up in a number of different ways. I found it tricky because I didn't find any patterns.  My next step is to find ways to get more patterns.
